What is FDR?
A suitable Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner will:
- be qualified and accredited with Australia’s Family Dispute Resolution practitioner and Australia’s Attorney General’s requirements
- demonstrate a proficient understanding of family law legal processes
- ensure safety for all involved people
- work diligently and professionally with integrity, a transparent budget and timeline
- facilitate a respectful, professional process and create an environment conducive to mediation
- communicate with accessibility, timeliness and active listening
- explain process, obligations, options and potential outcomes.
- maintain confidentiality and neutrality
- collaborate with legal, financial and other supporting experts.
- source and supply referrals and resources.
- provide initial consultation/ introduction
FAMILY Mediation Professional Fees

FDRP Invitation & Intake $250.00
S60I Certificate $250.00
Parenting $1200.00
Parenting & Property $1800.00
- includes preparation, communications prior to mediation
- up to 6 hours mediation attendance
- 1 hour post mediation agreement drafting
Additional costs to consider:
venue hire: circa $400 per day
legal or other expert advice/attendance fees
legal agreement drafting fees
Agreed hours beyond mediation agreement $300.00 per hour.
Mediation coach/support person $500-$2000
